Lights!

Temple Square is always a must at Christmas time. The decorations and true spirit of Christmas just abound! We went last night and saw the lights- it was extra magical because snow was falling too. It was a bit chilly, but not too bad- at least not for me!
I took the opportunity to get a little plug in to Tyler about being temple worthy- He mentioned he had never been inside the Salt Lake Temple and in the southeast visitors center, they have a very need replica. He took a good look- and I mentioned that it is never too late to be temple ready.
Jaxson was awed by the lights and the temple- "Aunt Cherish, what is that place?" I told him it was the temple, and that it was very beautiful and Jesus and Heavenly Father come there. "Oh! It is so pretty!"
After our walk around temple square, we checked out the new city creek center. It was really all a bustle and we didn't intend to shop at all, but it was so refreshing to go to the mall- and not smell cigarettes or see people half naked. The church owns the land, so there is a dress code and a standard that has to be met. I am sure that even people that aren't LDS but that have some standards really appreciate the atmosphere too!!

Laughing about this pic- That lady totally photo bombed our picture!!!!

Temple Square always is a good reminder of what Christmas is about- Christ, our Savior. His birth, His life, His ministry, and His sacrifice are all for the benefit of every single person on earth. I am grateful that we can celebrate the fun of Christmas and santa, but also to remember all of the sacred and spiritual   lessons we can take away from this time of year. Now is a time to think of Christ, to serve our fellow men, and to reflect on ways we can be more Christlike all year.
