April was a little boring!

We did manage to get the front yard all cleaned up, all my flowers and pots planted, and the backyard is a continued work in progress! We got our new shed, it's huge! To alleviate the lack of storage space in our home, and we got the patio cleaned up, some new sod laid, a tree cut down, and dumpster day accomplished.
Of course, Cameron had us entertained as usual, sometimes naughty, sometimes sweet, and always innocent!
We found a KSL deal voucher for a month of discount toddler karate class, and since Cameron has been way into Kung Fu Panda, we signed him up. I never know where some of the things he says come from, but one particularly funny day right before his first karate class, he was playing with his Kung Fu Panda action figures, and he blurted out, "trust me. You kicka your butt!!" It was pretty funny!
He loved doing the obstacle courses and fun exercises during his class time- I think that if we can find a more convenient location for lessons, we will keep him in Karate!

We did celebrate Dan's birthday- And another sweet moment happened while I was out shopping. Cameron and I were trying to find Dan a birthday present- he's hard to buy for, because he never wants anything- and we were browsing in Deseret Book. Well, DB has these cheesy Book of Mormon and Bible figures. Cameron got so excited over them, that I just had to let him pick one guy. He finally settled on Enos the Prophet. When we got to the car, he asked me to open his new guy please. I opened him and handed him the figure- he exclaims- "oh Mom, this is pretty. It's Jesus, Mom."
I got in the car, and started to drive away, and he pulls out his little toy woody, and proceeded to have Woody play with Jesus. It was really sweet. I love when he says things like this, or just bursts out in song- Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam! I hope he always knows who his Savior is!

On to the next shenanigan- Cameron hasn't had a ton of interest in coloring- it doesn't hold his attention long, so we don't do it often, or for very long. He has become more interested in it as he is maturing and going to school, so he gets to color more often. Well, up until this day, I have avoided the common toddler shenanigan of coloring everywhere but paper. Dan and I were in the backyard, and he had been out with us, but had let himself back in the house. It was close to lunch time, so I followed not long after and came in to find he had colored on everything- even fresh duck eggs. I was humbled- because I had secretly been carrying this pride about that my son hadn't nor would he ever do such a thing!!! I guess some trials of parenting happen to us all!!

We ended April with our friends the Jessop's for their 2nd daughter Addi's
first birthday!! We had a fun evening at the park, where Cameron so kindly "helped" open presents, and played with one of his best friends. He also gave Daddy a turn in the swings!

Cameron Speaks...

I need to remember to document the really fun things Cameron says. This week, we had a few golden moments!

While lounging in bed with me, he looked up at the picture of Jesus in my room and said, "I play with Jesus Mom." I asked him what they would play together, and he replied- "we will build blocks."

While shopping, Cameron picked up a baby outfit, turned to two ladies on the aisle and said, "hey people! This is cute!"

In regards to hearing that baby Will smiled at us in our last ultrasound- "baby will- he's so silly mom!" (It was cool to see that in 3D)

"Go to Mommy's Dr. Hear baby heart beeps."

While playing with Charli, he took a toy from her and she got mad, and started baby cussing him out and screaming. He turned, cupped her face in his hands and said, "Charli! Calm Down!!"

Mesmerized by beauty

Dan and I had a hard time finding a fun and witty show to watch after downton abbey ended. We finally settled on Mr. Selfridge- another really good masterpiece classic on PBS.

One evening this week, we were watching an episode, and one of the characters caught Cam's eye.

I got up and went into the kitchen for a drink or something, and Dan called me and motioned me to watch Cameron.

He was inching closer and closer to the TV just fixated on this character- a strong female character named Kitty Hawkins.

I said to Cameron, "Is she a pretty lady?"
He looked at me, and said, "uh-huh" and went back to watching her.

Next thing we know, he is leaning on the TV kissing her!!!

Dan and I died!! I don't know how he already knows to kiss pretty girls, but it was the cutest thing ever!!

Age three is a bittersweet thing. Either extremely sweet and entertaining, or extremely difficult and tiresome. I am so grateful that for the most part, Cameron is a sweet and accepting kid- with a small stubborn and independent streak!!

All things toddler- Poop Issue- If you can't handle toddler poop stories, stop here.

In November and December, we seemed to have an abundance of poop where poop isn't supposed to be episodes.
There are two times that are worth documenting here- I will mention there were probably 10 more. It was disgusting.
The very first time- Jaxson was over and he and Cameron were bathing together.
Jaxson says to me, "Cherish, your bathtub is dirty!"
Me: "No it isn't buddy, it's just old."
Jaxson: "There is dirt in here!"
Me: Looks into the bathtub, "OH Jaxson! You are right! That is poop! Cameron must have just pooped in the tub!"
Jaxson: "Can I please get the heck out of here?!"
Me: "Yes, yes you can!"

The next episode- was kind of a blowout. The only reason it is worth documenting is because I captured the most mischievous picture.
Cameron had some tummy troubles, and had a full diaper, I told him we would get into the bathtub. I started the water and looked around for him, and to my surprise- he put himself fully clothed and poop all over into the tub. I thought for sure he was done- so I had rinsed and cleaned everything then got him back into the clean tub to actually bath him, and he pooped some more. I had stepped into the hall to grab a towel, and he was so disgusted by it, that he was scooping it out of the tub onto the floor.

Can I say I am so glad that part of our lives seems to have passed.....

And so it starts....

Cam has been on the move for a little while, just not very far, not very fast, because of course, he hasn't figured out forward yet. Tonight he did the funniest thing though.
I had got him to sleep and down in his crib, and not too long later, he woke up. I got him and sat him in the livingroom on the floor while I went into the kitchen to make a bottle. I came back in, and he was gone! I said, "Cameron, where are you?" I peeked around the side of our recliner, and he was sitting there. When he saw me, he started giggling- joke was definitely on me!!!

I can never express enough and in words how grateful I am for our miracle son. What a blessing! What a perfect joy to have in our home! The lack of sleep and other inconveniences, are worth every minute of love, joy, and giggles we get from our baby! Being a parent is the most. amazing. journey. EVER!
