In November and December, we seemed to have an abundance of poop where poop isn't supposed to be episodes.
There are two times that are worth documenting here- I will mention there were probably 10 more. It was disgusting.
The very first time- Jaxson was over and he and Cameron were bathing together.
Jaxson says to me, "Cherish, your bathtub is dirty!"
Me: "No it isn't buddy, it's just old."
Jaxson: "There is dirt in here!"
Me: Looks into the bathtub, "OH Jaxson! You are right! That is poop! Cameron must have just pooped in the tub!"
Jaxson: "Can I please get the heck out of here?!"
Me: "Yes, yes you can!"
The next episode- was kind of a blowout. The only reason it is worth documenting is because I captured the most mischievous picture.
Cameron had some tummy troubles, and had a full diaper, I told him we would get into the bathtub. I started the water and looked around for him, and to my surprise- he put himself fully clothed and poop all over into the tub. I thought for sure he was done- so I had rinsed and cleaned everything then got him back into the clean tub to actually bath him, and he pooped some more. I had stepped into the hall to grab a towel, and he was so disgusted by it, that he was scooping it out of the tub onto the floor.
Can I say I am so glad that part of our lives seems to have passed.....

Rough Kisser
Yesterday we had a major case of the Monday's at our house. It started when I went into get Cam in the morning. I lifted him out of his crib and we were playing a bit and I lifted him over my head then as soon asI started bringing him down he threw his head into mine for a kiss- well, he still kisses open mouth so I got teeth through my eyebrow instead.
So there I was, frantically trying to call anyone with a car- as we only have one- and bleeding all over, and trying to get Cam breakfast. Ugh- it was rough. After 45 minutes Kristen called me back and came to my rescue. I thought for sure I would need stitches, but luckily it just needed some glue and steri strips.
A true accident- and Cam wasn't hurt at all- but that threw off the rest of our day. Thank heavens the week is now moving along.

Parents of the Year
Yesterday Dan and I were getting ready to run a few errands. We were both in our room and I set Cam in the middle of our bed. I was watching him, and he kept just sitting in the middle of the bed. I turned for literally one second to hand Dan a rubberband, and as I turned back, I watched Cam fall off my bed out of the corner of my eye. It happened faster than Dan and I could blink! My heart stopped. I think that the medical training in me took over- I just stayed as calm as possible and tried to calm Cam down. He cried for 30 minutes, and would not calm down. Dan and I got worried when he vomited, so we took him to Primary Children's ER at Riverton Hospital.
He vomited again while in the ER, and the doctors told us he was an intermediate risk for head trauma. At this point do we do a CT scan or not? The doctor told us there was a study that has shown doing CT scans in babies puts them at risk for 1 in 1000 to develop cancer when they are old. That is a relatively large risk when you account for the study including 40,000 children. A CT scan has the radiation equivalent of 500 chest xrays.
The plan became to observe him for 3 hours and an extra hour after drinking some juice to make sure he showed steady improvement and didn't vomit anymore.
Thank heavens! After 4 hours of observation from a 3 foot fall head first off my bed onto our hardwood floor, Cam is bruised but alright!!!!
After motrin and tylenol, and ice, and sleep, today he is much better- bruised but much better. Still a bit grumpy, but thank heavens nothing to worry about!

First Embarrassing Mommy Moment
I did a very embarrassing thing 2 days ago. The best part about it- I don't even really care! I'm sure it is the pain and exhaustion, or maybe the fact that I worked in medicine so long, I knew the nurses really didn't mind.
I have been working on getting down the skill of breast feeding. Cameron and I got off to a slow start because of the stress and emergent situation my labor and delivery was, then having him in NICU has been hard.
Anyway, I have been spending the largest parts of my day snuggling with him at the hospital until he gets to come home.
I was nursing him and when he finished, we snuggled for a minute, then he needed his diaper changed. He was out of diapers in his drawer, so I put him in his hospital crib, and walked out to the nurses station to get more diapers. Cameron's nurse that day was male. His name was Jeremy. He was an amazing nurse, and very kind.
Anyway, I walk out, and he started giggling at me and gave a not so subtle hint that I needed to pull my shirt down.
Low and behold I was walking around with my giant milk bags hanging out for the world to google at!!
I quickly pulled my shirt down. I hadn't even realized I had left it up. Again like I said - the best part is, I didn't care! It gave us all a good laugh in the hospital. I told Dan about it later and even he thought it was pretty funny!!
