This is pretty self explanatory. After I knew Cameron wasn't hurt, I couldn't speak except to tell him, "Go to your room."
Dan and I cleaned up all the glass, and talked about what happened. I went in and calmly talked to Cameron about how we have to be careful, he could have gotten hurt, and we have to take nice care of our things.
Dan and I gave each other high fives. I feel like it was the first time in Cameron's 3 years of life that we were both patient, and on the same page- a real parenting win!

April was a little boring!
We did manage to get the front yard all cleaned up, all my flowers and pots planted, and the backyard is a continued work in progress! We got our new shed, it's huge! To alleviate the lack of storage space in our home, and we got the patio cleaned up, some new sod laid, a tree cut down, and dumpster day accomplished.
Of course, Cameron had us entertained as usual, sometimes naughty, sometimes sweet, and always innocent!
We found a KSL deal voucher for a month of discount toddler karate class, and since Cameron has been way into Kung Fu Panda, we signed him up. I never know where some of the things he says come from, but one particularly funny day right before his first karate class, he was playing with his Kung Fu Panda action figures, and he blurted out, "trust me. You kicka your butt!!" It was pretty funny!
He loved doing the obstacle courses and fun exercises during his class time- I think that if we can find a more convenient location for lessons, we will keep him in Karate!
On to the next shenanigan- Cameron hasn't had a ton of interest in coloring- it doesn't hold his attention long, so we don't do it often, or for very long. He has become more interested in it as he is maturing and going to school, so he gets to color more often. Well, up until this day, I have avoided the common toddler shenanigan of coloring everywhere but paper. Dan and I were in the backyard, and he had been out with us, but had let himself back in the house. It was close to lunch time, so I followed not long after and came in to find he had colored on everything- even fresh duck eggs. I was humbled- because I had secretly been carrying this pride about that my son hadn't nor would he ever do such a thing!!! I guess some trials of parenting happen to us all!!

We did celebrate Dan's birthday- And another sweet moment happened while I was out shopping. Cameron and I were trying to find Dan a birthday present- he's hard to buy for, because he never wants anything- and we were browsing in Deseret Book. Well, DB has these cheesy Book of Mormon and Bible figures. Cameron got so excited over them, that I just had to let him pick one guy. He finally settled on Enos the Prophet. When we got to the car, he asked me to open his new guy please. I opened him and handed him the figure- he exclaims- "oh Mom, this is pretty. It's Jesus, Mom."
I got in the car, and started to drive away, and he pulls out his little toy woody, and proceeded to have Woody play with Jesus. It was really sweet. I love when he says things like this, or just bursts out in song- Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam! I hope he always knows who his Savior is! We ended April with our friends the Jessop's for their 2nd daughter Addi's
first birthday!! We had a fun evening at the park, where Cameron so kindly "helped" open presents, and played with one of his best friends. He also gave Daddy a turn in the swings! Sunday, April 3, 2016
Mesmerized by beauty
Dan and I had a hard time finding a fun and witty show to watch after downton abbey ended. We finally settled on Mr. Selfridge- another really good masterpiece classic on PBS.
One evening this week, we were watching an episode, and one of the characters caught Cam's eye.
I got up and went into the kitchen for a drink or something, and Dan called me and motioned me to watch Cameron.
He was inching closer and closer to the TV just fixated on this character- a strong female character named Kitty Hawkins.
I said to Cameron, "Is she a pretty lady?"
He looked at me, and said, "uh-huh" and went back to watching her.
Next thing we know, he is leaning on the TV kissing her!!!
Dan and I died!! I don't know how he already knows to kiss pretty girls, but it was the cutest thing ever!!
Age three is a bittersweet thing. Either extremely sweet and entertaining, or extremely difficult and tiresome. I am so grateful that for the most part, Cameron is a sweet and accepting kid- with a small stubborn and independent streak!!

First trimester down!
This pregnancy has been SO different than my pregnancy with Cam. I have been extremely exhausted. I had severe leg cramps, and the tell tale nausea and vomiting. My legs were swelling!! And I have just been sick! At my first appointment, my doctor ordered the normal pregnancy blood tests, along with a ton of others- my vitamins and minerals, iron, calcium, etc. Anyway, it ended up being like 13 tubes of blood.
Results come back- well! My iron was critically low, my calcium and vitamin D were very low, my sodium and potassium low but normal still- then another test that showed I was having muscle damage- because of the low iron!
This baby is stealing every thing I have and more!! The solution has been to double my prenatal vitamin, take vitamin c with liquid iron, take vitamin D and calcium, on top of my blood thinner injections, blood pressure, and thyroid medicine! I am running on quite the pharmacy! The good news is that I feel SO much better- my leg cramps went away after I was on the iron for only a few days.
Thankfully, my doctor is great, and the baby is good!! I am now just about 15 weeks, and my nausea is also gone! I hope for good! I was sick the whole time with Cameron, so the fact that I am feeling so much better this time is a welcome change!!
Cameron has been so silly- every time I got sick, he did too. He would say, "Oh mom! So sick!!" and proceed to spit into the toilet!!! I finally caught him doing it one day when I wasn't sick so I had to get a pic and document it!
Don't worry- our toilet had just been cleaned. I can't believe he sticks his head so far in.
I think I could even suggest that I would feel like a million dollars if Cameron slept! 3 years- longer for me- of no sleep. I don't remember the last time I got 6 or more hours in at one time. I average 3-5 hours of sleep a night- and usually not all at the same time. That being said, sleep is my biggest fear about having a toddler and a newborn!
We are working on a sticker chart with Cameron- I took him to Toys R Us and let him pick 2 big ticket items. He chose a talking Daniel Tiger, and a large Baymax. He has to fill his sticker chart of good nights- no waking up and waking mom or dad- and staying in his room until his alarm clock turns green. It will be progressive- he has two charts, this first one is 9 days, the second is 16. Well, we started February 16- he still has 4 more stickers to earn. It is going slow- but the fact that he has slept 5 nights since February 16 is awesome.
Here is to more sleep, warmer days, and feeling good for the rest of my pregnancy! We find out what we are having in just 18 days! Any guesses????
