Cam's 4 month Stats and a spiritual thought...

Today Cameron went in for his 4 month well child visit. He had to have 4 immunizations. He was so brave and only cried for a short moment! Thank heavens for Tylenol!
He is right on target with all his milestones. He is a happy and easy baby. He is serious though, and he offers his smiles pretty freely, but laughing you have to work for!
Here it goes. Our thick and chunky boy is right on target.

Weight: 15.12 pounds = 55th Percentile
Height: 25.5 inches = 50th Percentile
Head Circumference: 16.2 inches = 30th Percentile

Yep my sweet boy has a small yet perfect head. I was laughing about it, and our Pediatrician giggled but said there is no reason to worry about it!

Cam is a daily reminder of how the Lord works on his time, not mine. I prayed and prayed, Dan and I prayed and prayed and our miracle came. He came at the right time too. It is such a huge blessing that I am able to stay home with him. Our Father in Heaven really knows what is best for us and the best timing. Usually if you are waiting for something, or something doesn't work out the first time, I have found that my Father in Heaven has something even better in mind. Faith and patience really pay off- especially when we can exercise enough faith to Completely trust in the Lord.

So far I have found such joy and peace in Motherhood. I was meant to be a Mom. It is a divine gift and calling from heaven to have and bear children. Motherhood is the most selfless thing I have ever done and will do in my life.

Tonight after we put Cam to bed, we prayed together and read our scriptures. We read Enos. We discussed how President McKay had noted regarding our study of Enos: That conversion and being Christ-like are virtues we seek over our entire lifetime- with progress and set backs and sometimes re-learning the same lessons over again.
We also read about how Enos after he had gained his full conversion and a remission of his sins, he then poured out his soul to the Lord for the welfare of his brethren, then, again for his enemies! I specifically found a lot of comfort in the last verse of Enos:
27: "And soon I go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in Him I shall rest, And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before Him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father, Amen."
How peaceful and wonderful it sounds to be so well with your faith and works in life to have such confidence and even anticipation of the day when you meet again with our Savior and Father. If we live well with our Father in Heaven, there is definitely no reason to fear.

As we are reading the Book of Mormon together, I find that the older I get, the more I understand, and the more I enjoy reading. I have found it very satisfying that everything we are to do is spelled out for us.  I have noticed that the scriptures say over and over again- "In plainness of speech" - there is no beating around the bush.
Heavenly Father expects us to abide by our covenants with Him and to follow the commandments. I have and will continue to make my fair share of mistakes and have set backs, however, I know from my own choices and experience that being good, choosing the right, and doing my best to live the gospel is a far easier choice and way of life, and gives us the most happiness then does the alternative.

I know without a shadow of doubt that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only true and fully restored Gospel. I am so grateful for my faith and knowledge. I am so grateful for a husband who leads my family righteously, and a home where we can have the spirit.
