I hadn't been up there since I was a kid, and I remember thinking it was lame. Well, have I changed my tune! We had a really fun time, and learned a few things too!
The farm house they have up there was actually relocated. It is the original home, but was originally in Sugar House. Brigham actually never lived in it, never really stayed in it, but workers, children, and wives lived there and ran the home.
He had an apple orchard, and those trees grew apples that were a pound a piece!! They only needed 1-2 apples to make an apple pie with those apples!
You know the saying, "Costs an arm and a leg?" Well, there is a family portrait in the textile room of the farm house, and apparently you could save money on your portrait if the painter hid arms and legs. So true to form, the portrait cleverly has people that don't have all their limbs!

I haven't been there in ages! We'll have to take the kids the next time we make it to Utah.
